Research & Publications
My research focuses on translational studies of primary human cells in disease susceptibility and divergent clinical outcomes. The focus of our lab’s research is on use of novel emerging technology and high-dimensional OMICs platforms to define mechanisms of immune responses. The lab's projects include the effect of aging on immunity, divergent responses to infection with West Nile virus and SARS CoV2, and studies of inflammatory processes in asthma and sickle cell disease. We have published several methods using CyTOF, a mass-spec based cell analyzer which provides multi-dimensional (~50) single cell data in suspension or in tissue sections essentially without background signals or overlap between signals. We have used this expertise in collaborative studies of airway responses in asthma and COVID-19 infections.
