Reunion at the American Academy of Dermatology Meeting
The recent Yale School of Medicine Department of Dermatology Reunion at the annual American Academy of Dermatology (AAD) meeting in San Diego, California was a fun time for all those in attendance. Residents who had trained in our program from as far back as the 1970s were there! Reminiscing was admixed with updates in both personal and professional lives. In 2022, a task force that included Mona Gohara, MD; Sara Perkins, MD; Jean Bolognia, MD; and Kal Watsky, MD, made a few suggestions to enhance attendance: move the reunion from Sunday to Saturday evening; have the reunion at an AAD headquarter hotel; increase the number of reminders; and update the alumni electronic mailing list. These ideas worked, as attendance has markedly increased, and with the assistance of Karen Blake, the menu now has a local flare. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Orlando, Florida in 2025!

Yale Dermatology Networking Breakfast and Themed Grand Rounds
We closed out February with a Yale Dermatology Networking Breakfast and Themed Grand Rounds, "Pediatric Dermatology," with our faculty, residents, and outside volunteer attendings, held in the Beaumont Room before Grand Rounds. We wanted to bring back our outside attendings so they all could meet and gather in person, rather than always be on Zoom. It was successful, and we had a great turnout with a nice breakfast to start the day!

The promise of the technology alone has excited medical oncologists like Sarah Schellhorn, an assistant professor at Yale School of Medicine and Yale Cancer Center who is not involved with Perseus. “Hair loss is a big deal for many, many people. I can think of a couple circumstances where I have recommended chemotherapy, and people have chosen either a lesser regimen or no chemotherapy because of hair loss,” she said.
