Biography

Prior to her time at CORE, Anna was employed by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health and CT Department of Consumer Protection. During her 3 years at DPH, she managed a statewide CDC Emergency Preparedness program, the Cities Readiness Initiative. CRI is designed to help state and local governments prepare for a bioterrorist attack, pandemic, or other such event requiring mass prophylaxis of the population. This involved planning and evaluating drills/exercises, reviewing state and local preparedness plans, and providing technical assistance to local health departments. At the Department of Consumer Protection, she worked in the Drug Control Division and was part of the multi-state agency team that created and launched the Change the Script campaign aimed at curbing opioid abuse.

Before working in state service, Anna managed the HIV and outreach programs at a Community Health Center in Northwestern CT from 2012-2014. This built on her previous experience from 2007-2009 as a substance abuse counselor and caseworker for homeless individuals with HIV/AIDS.

Anna attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from 2010-2012 and graduated with a MPH with a concentration in health behavior and promotion.
