Biography

Mehmet S. Ozcan, MD is an Associate Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at Yale University Department of Anesthesiology. He graduated from the Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical School in Istanbul, Turkey. Upon completing his anesthesiology residency at the University of Florida, he completed fellowship training in critical care medicine and neuroanesthesia at the same institution. He has practiced as a neuroanesthesiologist and neurointensivist at University of Illinois Chicago and at University of Oklahoma before joining Yale. He has been a longtime member of Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care (SNACC) and has been serving as a member of the SNACC scientific affairs committee. In addition to anesthesiology and critical care medicine, he is among the first diplomates who obtained board certification in neurocritical care through ACGME.

Dr. Ozcan has published several peer-reviewed manuscripts, book chapters, review articles, and numerous meeting abstracts in the fields of neuroanesthesia and neurocritical care. His clinical and academic interests include cerebrovascular diseases, intracranial neoplasms, intraoperative neurophysiologic monitoring, and ethical considerations in neurocritical care practice
