Residents have the opportunity to rotate through all of the above rotations during their clinical anesthesia years. The Integrated Pain Management rotation combines acute pain management and regional anesthesia into one rotation. Residents on this rotation spend two weeks on the Acute Pain Service, learning management of acute post-surgical pain. Another 2 weeks is spent on the regional anesthesia service, learning about the placement and management of peripheral nerve blocks. Chronic pain is now a separate 4 week rotation, where residents get to spend time in the chronic pain clinic, learning about chronic pain conditions and treatment options. Electives are intended for residents to explore their interest in various aspects of anesthesiology with residents spending time with perfusionists, Palliative Care, or research
