HIGHLIGHTS FROM SEA The Society for Education in Anesthesia

April 27, 2022
HIGHLIGHTS FROM SEA The Society for Education in Anesthesia recently conducted their annual meeting in Pittsburgh, where our department had good representation. The theme of the meeting was Innovation: A Renaissance of Training, Practice, and Mindset in Anesthesiology.

Nicholas Cormier (CA1) presented his project : Connecting and Catalyzing: Simulation as a tool for integrating anesthesia interns and practicing critical incident management as an oral presentation. Dr. Sukhman Shergill (CA2) received one of only two SEA-HVO fellowships awarded to anesthesia residents across the country. This fellowship allows residents to travel to a site in a low resource setting such as Vietnam, Malawi, Ghana or Rwanda and participate in the education of anesthesia providers there. More information regarding this fellowship can be found here.

D
r. Viji Kurup co-chaired the planning of this meeting, conducted a workshop focused on Medical Education research as well as moderated a panel exploring meaningful patient involvement in medical education and research. Please click here to see some photos from the exciting event!
