PieDay (not Pi-day) is REMEDY’s way of saying “Thank You” to the employees of Yale New Haven Hospital for their participation in the collection of medical supplies for missions trips, donation to medical relief charities, and others. Every year REMEDY solicits donations from YNHH and Yale School of Medicine members to support Pieday. On a Friday in March the more than 100 pies are served, with ice-cream, to all comers. Employees from in and out of the ORs are invited to enjoy, and REMEDY board of directors and volunteers organize the event and serve pie. In 2018, PieDay is in its 27th year. It has become a much anticipated event of the OR. Though the main venue is the South Pavilion third floor OR lounge, pie is also served in the materials transport and central sterile supply lounges.
