Shah Receives SCAI 30 in Their 30s Award

The award recognizes 30 leaders in interventional cardiology.

Samit Shah, MD, PhD, assistant professor of medicine and director of the VA Connecticut Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, has been awarded a Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions’ (SCAI’s) 30 in Their 30s award for his contributions in the field of interventional cardiology.

Shah specializes in the invasive evaluation of coronary artery disease and coronary physiology and has been a SCAI fellow since 2020. Shah has published extensively on invasive coronary physiology testing, ischemic heart disease in women, and the vascular effects of psychological stress.

Shah completed his internship and residency training at Yale where he was recognized by the Internal Medicine Residency Program for Excellence in Outpatient Care. Shah joined the faculty in 2019 after fellowships in cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology at Yale New Haven Hospital. He is the recipient of the 2021 Wendy U. and Thomas C. Naratil Pioneer Award, 2022 Cardiovascular Research Technologies (CRT) Young Leadership Recognition Award, and the inaugural Dr. Lynda Rosenfeld Cardiology Fellowship Teacher of the Year Award. Shah serves on numerous committees and is an editorial board member of the Journal of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (JSCAI).

The award recognizes 30 leaders and role models in interventional cardiology. Recipients will be officially recognized at the Scientific Sessions held in Phoenix, Arizona on May 18-20, 2023.
