Dr. Deepak Narayan Traveling Scholarship
Supporting Future Leaders in Melanoma Care and Prevention
The annual Dr. Deepak Narayan Traveling Scholarship supports senior residents and junior attendings across the United States — future leaders in melanoma care — to advance surgical techniques, pursue research opportunities, and establish multidisciplinary collaborations, globally.
It is this kind of academic generosity and curiosity that Dr. Narayan lived throughout his career.
We lost Dr. Narayan to cancer on Christmas Eve, 2018. He was 56 years young — a full Professor of Plastic Surgery at Yale School of Medicine and Program Director for the residency program. Dr. Narayan was interim director of the Yale Melanoma Unit.
Through his contributions as a skilled surgeon-scientist, educator and mentor, and with your generous support of this scholarship, Deepak’s legacy lives on.
Thank you. Your gift will advance the future of melanoma research and the search for precise cures.
