Psychiatric Advance Directives

PRCH joined a CT DMHAS initiative to develop statewide policies and procedures regarding the use of psychiatric advance directives. This collaborative effort between DMHAS, PRCH, and the Connecticut Legal Rights Project, has resulted in the development of an Advance Directive Toolkit and Instructions and drafted DMHAS policies and procedures for its use.

PRCH has conducted numerous trainings and presentations on psychiatric advance directives and their use in person-centered planning. The materials were reviewed by the Attorney General's office and recently passed into Connecticut State Statutes.
