James is a doctoral student of Dr. Ranjit Bindra in the Experimental Pathology PhD program. His research focuses on the investigation of synthetic lethal drug interactions in glioma. Through collaboration with Dr. Seth Herzon's lab in the Department of Chemistry, James's goal is to create novel, rationally designed therapeutics.

James received his BS in Biology from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst Commonwealth Honors College with a minor in chemistry. He researched the use of nanomaterials for the cytosolic delivery of biologics under the mentorship of Dr. Vincent Rotello in the UMass Chemistry Department. He competed nationally on the UMass Powerlifting team.
