Chandra Goff, a recent graduate of the Yale School of Medicine Physician Associate Program traveled to Changsha, China for an international rotation during the Fall 2014 semester. While pursuing her undergraduate education, Goff minored in Chinese and always had an interest in integrating her formal medical training and Chinese studies hoping to further explore Chinese medicine and culture. While learning from the medical team at Xiangya School of Medicine and Xiangya Third Hospital, Goff noted stark differences between Western and Eastern medical systems. She was excited about the family centered medical model that is implemented in the Chinese medical system. Back at YSM, Goff was able to share her experience with colleagues and faculty.
