Henna Nam

Henna Nam is a third-year MD/PhD student. She grew up near Washington, DC, and graduated from the University of Chicago in 2022. During college, Henna studied chromosome 7 abnormalities in myeloid disease in the lab of Dr. Megan McNerney, volunteered as a patient advocate for survivors of sexual assault, and wrote for her school’s culinary magazine. After college, she explored epigenetic mechanisms of lymphomagenesis at Weill Cornell in the labs of Drs. Ari Melnick and Wendy Beguelin.

Now, at Yale, she is excited to investigate epigenetic mechanisms of anti-tumor immunity in melanoma with Drs. Goran Micevic and Richard Flavell! Outside of the lab, she serves as a graduate affiliate for Pauli Murray College, particularly as helping to run the undergraduate Mellon Forum. In her free time, she can be found cooking, hiking, and knitting, among other hobbies.
