External Pilot & Feasibility (P&F) project program from NIDDK 2018 is now open

The NIDDK Cooperative Centers of Excellence in Hematology program is pleased to announce the availability of its “External Pilot & Feasibility (P&F) project” program.  This program is currently accepting applications for one-year, small (up to $20,000), collaborative projects with one of the Centers.

For more information about this program and to apply, please go to:  http://www.cceh.io/funding/

Each of the 5 Centers contains several core facilities (http://www.cceh.io/#services ).  External P&F project applications are encouraged from postdocs and junior faculty to “add a dimension” to their ongoing research project that is not currently available to them.

Investigators need to discuss with their plans with the Core Director (see website).  Successful projects intend to use the “extra dimension” data/results in a future NIDDK Hematology grant application (e.g., R01) AND offer the Core Director something in return, in order to truly be collaborative. This is why it is important to discuss your project with the Core Director before making the application.

Applications are due by January 26, 2018 and must contain the following information:

1. Title, PI and any Key Personnel or Sponsor, abstract – page 1

2. Project description, significance – 1 page
3. Figures and references page – 1 page

4. Core use, budget, and justification (for trainees, signed by lab PI) – 1 page

5. Progress report on previous P&F funding, if appropriate page – 1 page

6. NIH-style Biosketch

Upload a single PDF via the website:  http://www.cceh.io/funding/ before Jan. 26, 2018.
