Tariq Ahmad

I am the Medical Director of the Advanced Heart Failure Program at the Yale University School of Medicine and the Yale New Haven Health System. I focus on the care of patients with end stage heart failure, left ventricular assist devices, and cardiac transplantation. My clinical training began at Brigham and Women's Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston. During that time, I also received an MPH from the Harvard School of Public Health. Next, I completed a fellowship in general cardiology and advanced heart failure at Duke University Medical Center. I also did a 2 year fellowship in cardiovascular research at the Duke Clinical Research Institute, the worlds largest Academic Research Organization. My research interest is in using data to improve the care of patients with heart failure. I partner with several investigators at Yale to run pragmatic clinical trials across the health system that are aimed at answering foundational questions about the practice of heart failure- one of these is the REVEAL-HF clinical trial (www.reveal-hf.com).
