Interventional Cardiologist Glen A. Henry, MD to Lead Cath Lab at Georgia Heart Institute

Glen A. Henry, MD, assistant professor of clinical medicine and prominent interventional cardiologist, has accepted a new role at the Georgia Heart Institute in Gainesville, Ga. He joins a former trainee from the interventional cardiology fellowship program, Habib Samady, MD, now president of the Georgia Heart Institute. He assumes his new role as the Director of Interventional Cardiology and Cardiac Cath Labs on Oct. 7.

A Yale faculty member since 1998, Henry currently serves as the Director Complex Coronary Interventions, Interventional Cardiology Program. Henry completed his internship, medical residency, and fellowship training in cardiology and interventional cardiology at the Yale School of Medicine. His primary research interests are in complex coronary interventions, including chronic total coronary occlusions (CTO). Specifically, strategies to minimize adverse procedural outcomes for complex endovascular interventions.

Throughout his career, Henry has been committed to educating future interventional cardiologists. Watch his 2021 lecture on advanced coronary intervention, “The Gear: How to Get There.”

Between 2011-2014 Henry was selected for National Committee for Quality Assurance recognition program. He has been included among the ‘Top Doctors’ list in Connecticut Magazine for multiple consecutive years.
