Why did you choose medicine and Yale?

I chose Yale because I felt like it offered a double threat of incredible clinical training and endless opportunities to begin an academic career in medicine.

What was your path to Yale?

Before Yale, I completed my training in internal medicine at the Johns Hopkins Hospital and then a critical care fellowship at the National Institutes of Health.

What is a fun fact about you?

I have a 125 lb. Swiss Mountain Dog named Lainey who I named after Elaine from Seinfeld.

Perks of New Haven life?

The beauty of this area is how close you are to everything, including the beach, hiking, the mountains, and several larger cities.

What is your 5-year goal? 10-year? Overall career?

My goal is to be a leader in Cardiac Critical Care and be a director of a cardiac intensive care unit.

EXTRA:

Miller was recently the lead author on “Cardiac Critical Care: Training Pathways and Transition to Early Career,” published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.
