Dr. Darin Latimore, M.D., serves as the Yale School of Medicine’s first Deputy Dean for Diversity and Inclusion and Chief Diversity Officer. He leads the development and implementation of a strategic plan to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), focusing on the recruitment and retention of faculty and students from historically underrepresented backgrounds. Dr. Latimore has established programs aimed at improving faculty diversity, retention, and community-building. He also oversees initiatives that support the outreach, success, and retention of YSM students and postdoctoral fellows.

As co-chair of the YSM Program for Art in Public Spaces, he has helped commission works featuring diverse leaders and hosted public exhibits. Before joining Yale in 2017, he held key DEI leadership roles at the University of California, Davis School of Medicine.
