Genetics Department Seminar Series: "Of Hungry Genes and African Dreams"
Recent reports have highlighted the lack of diversity among genomic studies, particularly among populations of African ancestry, who harbor an abundance of genomic diversity and specific clinical phenotypes. Here I intend to discuss new studies shedding light upon the African Genome, and use our studies of severe childhood malnutrition to illustrate the inherent challenges and opportunities.
