Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship

The Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine Fellowship is an ACGME accredited fellowship designed to produce clinicians capable of providing contemporary comprehensive care for critically ill adult patients with surgical, cardiac, thoracic, traumatic or medical diseases. We stress the pathophysiology and perioperative implications of these conditions. Our group works closely with multiple solid organ transplant teams.

Fellows in Anesthesiology Critical Care Medicine rotate through surgical/trauma, cardiac surgery and medical intensive care units. Fellows are also given the opportunity to do electives, participate in research projects with Anesthesiology faculty and focus on areas of personal interest.

Fellows are expected to achieve competence in the following:

  • Critical Care Ultrasonography
  • Advanced mechanical circulatory support devices.
  • Patient safety and quality improvement.
  • Complex communication around critical Illness

Many of our ACCM faculty also participate in our Cardiac Anesthesiology service and fellowship. We offer applicants the option of combining ACCM and Cardiac Anesthesiology into a 2 year program.
