Volunteers needed for September 7 “Closer to Free: A Ride for Smilow Cancer Hospital”

August 19, 2013
by Deborah Jagielow

Now in its third year, the Closer to Free Ride cycles through some of the region's most beautiful countryside while supporting patient care and research at New England's most comprehensive cancer center. 100% of the funds raised go directly to the research and care at Smilow Cancer Hospital and Yale Cancer Center.

The Yale Bowl Volunteers and Road Crew Volunteers are the backbone of the Ride. There are a variety of fun and rewarding volunteer opportunities for anyone who wants to lend a hand. In particular, they currently need massage therapists, motor safety team members (particularly motorcyclists), and medical volunteers (RNs, MDs, PAs, etc.) Register and learn more about supporting our riders every mile of the way. Visit http://www.rideclosertofree.org/ to find out more about the race and volunteer roles, or email rideclosertofree@ynhh.org.
