iANDA! 5K: HAVEN Free Clinic Virtual 5K

Join us on Sunday, October 11, 2020 to run, walk, or simply cheer for HAVEN Free Clinic. Your registration fee and each dollar you raise enable us to provide quality, comprehensive wellness care to our patients in New Haven. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the decision was made to convert the 2020 HAVEN 5K Walk/Run to a virtual event, with people participating in or near their own neighborhoods.

Many barriers exist to accessing health insurance. Families may face low wages, difficult working conditions, and overwhelming medical debt. HAVEN fills a critical gap in the healthcare landscape by providing primary care, reproductive health care, social services, and education to these community members free of charge. We also serve as a bridge to the formal healthcare system, providing access to free specialty care and guiding eligible patients through the health insurance enrollment process.

DONATION EQUIVALENTS:
$25 – 1 complete blood test
$50 – 1 hepatitis B vaccine
$165 – A comprehensive patient visit

$439 – Support the care of 1 HAVEN patient for an entire year

All proceeds from this event will support the HAVEN Free Clinic, a student-run primary care clinic that partners with Yale University to provide comprehensive primary care services to members of the New Haven community free-of-charge. The annual 5K race, our signature fundraising event, typically raises 70% of our total annual departmental budget.
