Medical Education Day At Yale Monday June 24, 2013

Enhancing Educator Development and Scholarship

Speed Meeting Sessions with Leaders in Education 3:00pm to 4:00pm

The room is arranged with 7 tables, each with no more than 10 chairs. On each table is a card with a leader’s name. As attendees arrive, they are asked to fill in the chairs at the tables. The leaders come in and sit at their table. The moderator rings a bell signifying the start of the first meeting and rings it again after 9 minutes, which marks the end. At the end of each 9 minutes, the leaders pick up their name card and quickly move to the next table. The bell rings to start the next 9 minutes and so on. The conversation is informal with topics loosely prescribed as leadership, educational scholarship, career planning and curriculum development. There will be a total of 6 meetings, each lasting 9 minutes. The hour long session is quick paced, casual and fun for all participants.
