Physician Biography

Dr. Barbieri graduated from Case Western Reserve University (2005) and Wayne State University School of Medicine (2009). She completed her anatomic and clinical pathology residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital (2013) and was a Chief Resident in Anatomic Pathology. She completed a GI and Liver Pathology fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin and subsequently completed two years of Clinical Instructorship at Yale where she also gained experience in Head and Neck and Endocrine Pathology. Dr. Barbieri is passionate about advocating for her patients and providing exceptional clinical care, despite never meeting the vast majority of her patients. She has strong interests in quality assurance in anatomic pathology. She provides care to her patients on the Endocrine, Head and Neck and GI / Liver Pathology subspecialty services in the Department of Pathology. She also interprets frozen sections (real time, intraoperative analysis of patient tissue samples).
