Recognition
Grilo Earns the Sidney J. Blatt Award
Carlos M. Grilo, PhD, professor of psychiatry and of psychology and founding director of the Program for Obesity, Weight and Eating Research (POWER) at Yale, has been chosen to receive the Sidney J. Blatt Award from the Yale Department of Psychiatry’s Psychology Section. The award recognizes Grilo for his outstanding contributions to psychology research, education, and clinical practice. Grilo is an internationally recognized expert on eating disorders, obesity, and manifestations of disordered eating across the weight spectrum and developmental eras.
Halene Keynotes YCC's Post-ASH Review
Stephanie Halene, MD, Dr Med, Arthur H. and Isabel Bunker Professor of Medicine (Hematology) and professor of pathology, gave the keynote as Yale Cancer Center (YCC) shared information gathered at the recent annual meeting of the American Society of Hematology (ASH). She spoke about Understanding and Harnessing RNA Biology in Myeloid Malignancies.
Morford Is Medical Director of YSM's PA Programs
Kenneth Morford, MD, assistant professor of general internal medicine, has become medical director for Yale School of Medicine's two PA Programs, as of April 1, 2024. Morford's commitment to medical education is reflected in his direction of the HRSA-funded inter-professional addiction medicine in primary care training program known as CHAMP, his leadership position in the Interprofessional Longitudinal Clinical Experience (ILCE), and his role as an associate program director for the Yale Addiction Medicine Fellowship Program.
PA Students Receive Scholarships
Class of 2025 PA students (l-r) Amelia Eldridge, Madeline Marks, Kelly Dunn, and Davis Roe have received scholarships awarded by the Connecticut Physician Assistant Foundation. The awards ceremony was held on March 25 as part of the Connecticut Academy of Physician Assistants' annual business luncheon.
