Crews Is Elected an AACR Fellow
Craig M. Crews, PhD, John C. Malone Professor of Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology and professor of chemistry, of pharmacology, and of management, is a newly elected Fellow of the American Association for Cancer Research. AACR cites his "trailblazing research involving the use of small molecules to manipulate intracellular protein levels via targeted protein degradation, pioneering the development of proteolysis-targeting chimeras (PROTACs), and leading critical investigations concerning synthetic proteasome inhibitors such as carfilzomib, approved for the treatment of multiple myeloma."
Mansuri Chosen for an APA Workgroup
Zeeshan Mansuri, MD, assistant professor of psychiatry, was selected for the American Psychiatric Association’s (APA) 11-member APA-IMG (International Medical Graduate) Workgroup. The workgroup’s charge was to develop a plan of action to address the unique needs of the IMG members, members of international origin, and members who continue to identify strongly with countries of origin.
Martone Earns American Glaucoma Society's Humanitarian Award
James Martone, MD, PhD, associate professor of ophthalmology & visual science, has received the American Glaucoma Society's Humanitarian Award, which recognizes a colleague’s humanitarian efforts for the preservation of vision and improvement of the quality of life for those in need.
Politi Elected to AACR Board of Directors
Katerina Politi, PhD, professor of pathology and member of Yale Cancer Center, has been elected to the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) board of directors for a term running from 2024 through 2027.
