About my YCCI Internship

YCCI has impacted me in so many ways, such as my knowledge about the field of Clinical Research. This knowledge allowed me to dig deeper into my interests. My favorite days were when I met Dr.Nunez-Smith and Dr.Calhoun. I was really inspired by their work and how their accomplishments led to positive impacts on the healthcare industry. Their accomplishments were the ones that I wanted to make in the future and I connected with them showing how they are my inspiration. This program also helped me with my social anxiety and meeting other people from different places around the world. This program also gives me more self-confidence in myself and my future endeavors.

For Students Considering a YCCI Internship

APPLY! I didn't have high hopes of getting accepted into the program because Yale is one of the best schools in the country. When I got the letter saying I was accepted I was freaking out because of how proud I was of myself. The results will surprise you when you apply. Also, don't be afraid to speak up when you want to say something. When I would ask a question I felt like I was getting judged, but I was actually seen as someone who is passionate about their interests. No one is going to judge you for a question or comment that you make.
