KINETIC
In Fall 2026, Women’s Health Research at Yale is embarking on KINETIC, a big bet research project on topics that changes lives.
Kinetics leverages the deep interdisciplinary expertise of our Collaborative and describes our methodology – examining mechanisms that accelerate discovery, remove friction, and scale momentum in women’s health – and is defined as Knowledge and Interdisciplinary Networks for Excellence in Transformative Investigation and Collaboration.
Our first KINETIC is Aging & Longevity, where Members of the Women’s Health Research at Yale Collaborative drive transformative science by positioning midlife as the interdisciplinary gateway through which pressing gaps, new knowledge, new teams, and new solutions emerge for longer, healthier, more productive lives.
KINETIC: Aging & Longevity Goals:
- Define the most pressing and most transformative gaps in our understanding of the biological mechanisms and physiological processes through which midlife or menopause transition shape aging, longevity, and the development of chronic disease and disability.
- Identify the innovative methodologies, infrastructure, and resources needed to address these gaps and to move from discovery to solution.
- Build cross-disciplinary teams equipped with complementary expertise, shared scientific vision, and collaborative capacity to develop and win competitive grants centered on the science of aging, longevity, and women’s health.
Women’s Health Research at Yale Director Basmah Safdar, MD, and Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Reproductive Sciences Professor Lubna Pal, MD, serve as Co-Chairs the first KINETIC. This one-year experiment encompasses a Core Work Group and Expert Network and if successful, additional KINETIC cohorts will launch in the future.
