Subinternship Program

Subinternships are an opportunity for medical students to acquire clinical experience with a hospital, generally as a precursor to applying for a residency at the same hospital. To be eligible for a subinternship, visiting students must be in their 3rd, 4th, or 5th year of medical school, and have at least six months of prior clinical training.

Through the Yale School of Medicine, Yale Urology offers a four-week urology subinternship which provides an in-depth view of the various sub-specialties within urology including uro-oncology, minimally invasive (laparoscopic) urology, endo-urology, neuro-urology, female urology, and pediatric urology. The sub-intern will be a part of the urologic team and actively participate in the clinic, the OR, and on rounds.
