Who will be studied?
Women who are at least 18 years old and pregnant may be eligible to participate in the YURS-Pregnancy Study.
What does the study involve?
Participation requires up to 4 visits where you will be asked to have an ultrasound of your abdomen, and you will also have your blood drawn at each visit. Finally, when you deliver your baby, we will collect the placenta and cord blood. We will gather information about your pregnancy, birth and baby.
What is the time commitment?
Each research visit will last about 1 hour, and you will be asked to come in for up to 4 research visits:
First Visit: between 11-13 weeks
Second Visit: between 19-21 weeks
Third Visit: between 27-29 weeks
Fourth Visit: between 35-37 weeks
We will schedule all appointments at your convenience.
Where will I go for my research visits?
All research visits will take place at the Yale Center for Clinical Investigation Outpatient Research Unit, which is located at 2 Church Street South on the Fourth Floor in Suite 401.
What are the benefits of being in this study to my family?
You will receive ultrasound images of your baby at each research visit.
What safeguards are in place to ensure that the study is conducted in a safe and ethical manner?
The study has been approved by the Yale Human Investigations Committee, protocol #1601017004.
