Mechanisms by Which Tcf7l2 Controls Addiction-relevant Gene Expression in the Habenula

Overview: The aim is to identify transcriptional co-activators and co-repressors that function in partnership with Tcf7l2 in the habenula to regulate gene expression. To accomplish this, Tcf7l2 will be immunoprecipitated and binding partners will be identified. Subsequently, we will manipulate the expression and/or function of these binding partners and determine the effects on the motivational properties of nicotine and opioids.
