DNA Sequencing

The Keck DNA Sequencing Facility provides competitive and timely DNA sequencing in an efficient and cost effective manner. Sequencing is carried out on our Applied Biosystems 3730xL DNA Analyzers, along with Applied Biosystems Big Dye chemistries. Our Sanger Sequencing services include:

DNA Sequencing Drop-off Hours and Locations

For your convenience, we have several sample drop-off locations on campus. Our courier service picks up from these locations two times daily, Monday through Friday,

Medical School Area: BCMM 108, in the glassware cabinet, second shelf, outside of TAC-S340, across from TAC-S330, AMISB 420:
  • Estimated pick-up times: 9:00 am & 2:45 pm
Science Hill Area: Bass 207 & OML 114 & YSB 1st & floor mailroom, MCDB Office:
  • Estimated pick-up times: 8:30 am & 2:30 pm
300 George St Room 2127:
  • Drop-off hours: 8:30 am-5:00 pm (Please leave your samples (in the rack provided) on the counter inside the doorway.)
For security reasons, the inside door will be open only between 9:00am and 5:00pm. There are instructions on the door specifying how to get into the labs before 9:00am and after 5:00pm. The outer door will remain unlocked for 24/7 sample drop-off.

West Campus: 840 Advanced Biosciences Center Room 216 & Integrated Science and Technology Center Room 366: ***Effective Tuesday, September 11th, the new (temporary) location of the Keck cart will be ABC-290B passageway (just past ABC-214) ***
  • Estimated pick-up times: 9:00 am & 2:00 pm
VA, Building 34:
  • Pick-up: Thursday at 8:30 am

The Keck Facility will not accept samples containing protected health information (PHI) or electronic protected health information (ePHI) that is covered under the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA). Any individually identifiable health information associated with a sample must be removed by the user before the sample will be accepted. Learn more about Keck HIPAA Policies for Sample Submission.
