Kidney Tubule Bioengineering
The Chang Lab is focused on tissue engineering approaches to model human disease and to develop new therapeutics. We use in vitro and in vivo techniques to engineer human microvascular networks using microfluidic chip technology and animal model systems. We are also using inducible pluripotent stem cells to derive kidney organoids designed to model human kidney disease and to advance kidney regenerative medicine. Our goal is to make discoveries that can be translated into improved patient care.
