Surgery / Transplantation Presents: "Liver Disease and Transplantation in Children and Adults: Update 2013"

This live activity has been approved for a maximum of 6.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits (TM).

There has been tremendous growth in transplantation and there is a significant need to educate physicians and health care providers on both liver disease and transplantation. Excellent care of cirrhotic patients and management of liver cancer before transplant operation are crucial for successful transplantation. Early referrals, timely transplants, and post-transplant follow-up care including prevention/management of post-transplant disease recurrence are key elements of superb patient outcomes.  These needs have spurred the Department of Surgery/Transplantation to meet and discuss the preferred method of building consensus and shared practices among our local and regional colleagues.
