As a graduate student in the Hidalgo Lab, I study the intersection of immunology, metabolism, and aging. My research focuses on how macrophages ( immune cells critical for tissue maintenance), support organ health throughout life, and how their loss may contribute to age-related decline in tissues such as the heart and skeletal muscle.
