National Doctor's Day

March 30, 2023

Today on this National Doctors’ Day, we would like to take a moment to thank our physicians for their hard work and dedication. They have worked tirelessly this year to care for patients in our clinics, emergency rooms and operating rooms, and have risen to the occasion many times to respond to the demands that have emerged. This year they have been asked to see patients under challenging conditions as the need for our services has been extraordinary post-COVID. In addition to regular hours, many have volunteered to take additional call and cover consults in the hospital in the middle of a global infectious disease pandemic.

National Doctors’ Day is a time to thank physicians for their tireless work, and to reflect upon the importance of a doctor’s role in promoting and maintaining the health and wellbeing of others. It is a good day for us to thank the many people that we rely upon to care for patients, including nurses, technicians, and office staff. As academic physicians, we are surrounded by wonderful staff and scientists who strive to develop new treatments for our patients, as well as train the next generation of physicians and scientists. Additionally, it is a good time to remember that it is a privilege to be entrusted with the care of other people.

Thank you for all that you do!
