We are pleased to announce that Dr. James Martone, Associate Professor of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the Yale School of Medicine, was recognized recently at the annual meeting of the American Glaucoma Society last weekend. Dr. Martone, who was the medical director of Orbis for many years, received the prestigious Humanitarian Award at the American Glaucoma Society for his work. This award recognizes a colleague’s humanitarian efforts for the preservation of vision and improvement of the quality of life for those in need. As you know, Dr. Martone continues his important work and has led our recent efforts to establish a program in International and Global Ophthalmology at Yale.
