It is with great pleasure that we announce the promotion of Alden Mead, JD to Associate Clinical Professor on the voluntary track in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Science at the Yale School of Medicine. This prestigious promotion reflects Alden’s remarkable dedication and contributions to our department and the field of ophthalmology.
Alden’s association with the department spans over 50 years, making him the longest continuously active member in our history. This is no small feat, as few people ever reach such a level of longstanding service. His deep institutional knowledge and commitment have been an invaluable asset to our team over the decades.
In addition to his new faculty role, Alden recently began his position as Section Program Manager for the Section of International Ophthalmology and Global Eye Health. In this expanded capacity, he will oversee all aspects of the section’s work while continuing his responsibilities as Associate Director. His leadership in the section of Global Eye Health has helped to elevate our department’s global presence, and we are confident that his vision and expertise will continue to advance our mission of delivering care to underserved populations worldwide.
We are excited about the future work Alden will do in these roles and look forward to seeing the continued impact of his leadership both locally and globally. His promotion is a testament to his unwavering dedication and invaluable contributions to the department.
Please join us in congratulating Alden on this significant achievement!
