Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models (NLP/LLM) Interest Group
Natural Language Processing (NLP), the field dedicated to the interaction between computers and human (natural) languages, has witnessed exponential growth and impact, especially with recent advances in large language models (LLMs) such as ChatGPT. These LLMs have demonstrated remarkable capabilities in understanding and generating human-like text, revolutionizing various applications including translation, summarization, question answering, and conversational agents. To advance AI research at Yale, we have established an interest group on NLP/LLM across multiple schools at Yale University. The group aims to facilitate collaboration and discussion among faculty and students interested in NLP/LLM, offering a platform to share research ideas, present ongoing AI work, and explore potential collaborations. The NLP/LLM Interest Group is hosted by Hua Xu, PhD at Biomedical Informatics & Data Science. Biweekly meetings at the Wu Tsai Institute are held to foster an enriching environment for knowledge exchange and networking. Read more about meeting activities below and feel free to sign up to our mailing list.
