Biography
Dr. Akuley is a Retired U.S. Army Veteran. She received her Bachelor’s degree from Lincoln University, Jefferson City, Missouri and obtained her Doctorate in Public Health from The Pennsylvania State University, College of Medicine. Dr. Akuley is currently a postdoctoral fellow in Women Veterans Health at the Pain Research, Informatics, Multi-morbidities, and Education (PRIME) Center, West Haven, CT, VA Healthcare System with Academic affiliation in the Biomedical Informatics & Data Science Department at Yale School of Medicine. Her research interests focus on social determinants of health, multi-morbidities, and chronic overlapping pain conditions in Women Veterans.
