    Biography

    Dr. Ralph J. Riello III, PharmD, BCPS is a board-certified clinical pharmacy specialist with extensive expertise in cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic health & pharmacoinformatics. Ralph’s professional career began in 2010 at Yale-New Haven Hospital (YNHH) as a pharmacy intern while matriculating through UConn School of Pharmacy’s doctoral program & YNHH's Pharmacy Practice Residency. Dr. Riello honed his clinical acumen over nearly a decade of inpatient service dedicated to Yale’s Coronary ICU with the interventional cardiology & advanced heart failure teaching teams, where he trained nearly 300 multidisciplinary medical & pharmacy learners—students, residents, fellows, & even international pharmacists from countries around the world. As a testament to his commitment to experiential education, Dr. Riello's multitude of learners have nominated him for several notable accolades: ASHP Foundation’s New Preceptor Award, CSHP’s Pharmacist of the Year, & CPA’s Distinguished Young Pharmacist Award. Beyond clinical duties, Dr. Riello has remained an integral member of the Clinical & Translational Research Accelerator (CTRA) at Yale School of Medicine since 2020. At CTRA, Ralph is a pharmacist-investigator leading a portfolio of innovative & practice-changing clinical trials that leverage scalable digital health information technology to accelerate adoption of guideline-concordant care for every patient, everywhere, all the time. Dr. Riello & his co-investigators have been privileged to showcase their PRragmatic studies Of Messaging to Providers about Treatment or “PROMPT” clinical informatics research framework as late-breaking clinical trial presentations at multiple inter- & national medical congresses with over 50 associated publications & greater than 1,500 citations across many high-impact medical journals. He is also a decorated & prolific public speaker with nearly 500 live educational presentations, video recordings, & podcasts to date related—including unbranded & promotional talks, medical grand rounds, accredited continuing education lectures, & other healthcare conference symposia.
