PEM POCUS Fellowship

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) aims to gather essential information in patient care situations where clinicians are required to make time sensitive management decisions. We perform goal directed and problem-oriented evaluations for a variety of patient care scenarios. We bring this evolving technology to the bedside to make the emergency care of our pediatric patients faster and safer.

POCUS Fellowship

The Yale Pediatric Emergency POCUS fellowship was started in 2019. Our mission is to provide a nurturing environment for our fellows to acquire the skills necessary for the proficient use of basic and advanced POCUS. During the training program, fellows will encounter a broad range of pediatric pathology and experience a comprehensive exposure to clinical and procedural ultrasound exams. They will also gain experience in POCUS administration and quality assurance. Upon completion, graduates will be well equipped to pursue careers in pediatric POCUS and become leaders in the field. Through collaboration with the Yale Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Section, PEM POCUS fellows also gain experience performing procedures and diagnosing pathology in our adult emergency department as well. More information on the Yale Emergency Medicine Ultrasound Section can be found here.
