Lei Chen, MD, MHS, BS

Professor of Pediatrics (Emergency Medicine) and of Emergency Medicine; Affiliated Faculty, Yale Institute for Global Health; Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine

My wife and I came to New Haven in 1997, intending to stay for the three years of my pediatric residency. After a detour of pediatric critical care and further training in pediatric emergency medicine, I took my first, and only, attending job in 2005. My professional passions include clinical medicine, and applying the technology of bedside ultrasound to education and clinical care. To that end, you will find me in New Haven, and Butaro, Rwanda, teaching at University for Global Health Equity, with a portable ultrasound in-tow.

In my spare time I volunteer at the Bradley Street Bicycle Co-op, where we believe more bicycles mean a better city for all. Stop by if you need a new (old) ride!
