Dr. Sankey is an Academic Hospitalist specializing in the inpatient care of adult patients, with ABIM certification in Internal Medicine with a Focused Practice in Hospital Medicine. He completed his internal medicine residency in 2005, his chief residency in internal medicine in 2006, and has been a Hospitalist from 2006 to the present -- all at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He attends on the General Medical services as well as the Medical Step-Down Unit. Dr. Sankey plays an integral role in clinical care and medical education at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He is the Associate Director of the Yale School of Medicine's Internal Medicine Clerkship and is a core clinical faculty for the Traditional Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Sankey's research interests include clinical deterioration of patients in the inpatient setting, teaching via clinical vignettes, resource utilization, and end of life care.
