A number of Working Groups exist to focus on specific projects and tasks that are part of the broader Implementation Plan. If you're interested in joining any of them, please contact the lead listed below. We welcome your participation!

Early Pipeline – Bridge, Engage, and Follow

Our Early Pipeline Working Group is focused on:

  • Working very closely with our school community
  • Organizing events to expose health professionals to school children/teachers/family
  • Tracking the long-term impact of their activities

Recruitment – Engage and Advise

The Recruitment Working Group focuses on increasing the diversity of the faculty ranks by:

  • Participating in recruitment engagements
  • Providing input on recruitment strategies
  • Offering input on needs assessments

Retention – Inclusion, Equity, and Belonging

The Retention working group has a multifaceted role in:

  • Providing input on culture and climate
  • Participating in activities of engagement
  • Continuing the DEI conversation
  • Offering input on DEI Reporting System
  • Providing input on employee/trainee development opportunities

Scholarship

The goal of this working group is to find areas of scholarship/research within the many DEI initiatives our committee is embarking upon.

Staff Recruitment and Retention

This group seeks to advance workforce diversity, education, and ongoing DEI conversations in the Department. Its main responsibilities are:

  • Representing the staff in ongoing DEI conversations throughout the Department
  • Fostering a culture of safety, inclusion and belonging for all
  • Advocating for and offering solutions to staff recruitment and retention challenges
