Help us understand how endometriosis impacts long-term cardiovascular health

If you are a woman (18 – 45 years old) with or without endometriosis, you may be eligible to participate in a free and confidential study designed to look at how estrogen may affect cardiovascular health. Individuals currently using hormonal birth control are not eligible.

Minority women are encouraged to participate as it is important to study different groups of people to understand what treatments work best for most women.

Participation requires three in-person visits to the John B. Pierce Lab, including one screening visit (~1 hour) and two experimental visits (~5 hours each).

Compensation up to $380.

To learn more or to see if you are eligible to participate, please email Abby at endoresearch@jbpierce.org.

Do you or someone you know suffer from Chronic Limb-Threatening Ischemia (CLTI) – also known as Critical Limb Ischemia (CLI)?

If you're 18 or over and have been diagnosed with CLTI, don't respond to available treatments, have no option of revascularization, and are in high risk of leg amputation, then you may be eligible to join a free and confidential study investigating an innovative cell-therapy treatment that can potentially provide amputation-free survival for no-option CLTI patients.

After you have gone through the initial screening process for your enrollment in the trial, your next visit to the clinic will involve a simple blood draw. Three days later - the cells taken from your blood will be re-injected through a simple and rapid procedure followed by overnight inpatient monitoring.

To learn more or to see if you are eligible to participate, please call the research team for the study at 203-785-2561 or email Hugh.Medvecky@yale.edu.

Screening Study for Minority Populations with Heart Failure

If you are at least 60 years old and have been diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF), you may be eligible to participate in a free and confidential study investigating how a condition called cardiac amyloidosis (ATTR-CA) may affect people of African or Hispanic descent.

If you enroll, you would be asked to come to the clinic for up to 3 visits. The visits include asking questions about your medical history and list of medications you are taking, measuring vital signs, physical exams, blood tests including genetic testing, urine tests, walking and balancing tests, and echocardiogram (ECG). At the first visit, x-ray imaging of your heart (PYP Scintigraphy) would be done to help determine if you have ATTR-CA.

Compensation up to $250.

To learn more or see if you are eligible to participate, please email Dr. Edward Miller at edward.miller@yale.edu or Cinthia de Freitas at cinthia.defreitas@yale.edu.
