Please join us in welcoming our newest faculty member, Henry Hsia, MD, to the Yale School of Medicine Department of Surgery. Dr. Hsia joined the Section of Plastic Surgery as an Assistant Professor effective April 20, 2015.

Dr. Hsia attended Harvard University for his undergraduate degree and Yale University for his medical school degree, he then went on to complete his General Surgery residency here at Yale-New Haven Hospital. He also completed an American Heart Association Research Fellowship at Yale University and then moved to Princeton University for two years as a Research Fellow. He has since been working as a Clinical Instructor at Princeton University and an attending at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Jersey.

Dr. Hsia will be responsible for leading Yale-New Haven Hospital and Yale School of Medicine in the development of an expanded wound care center at Yale-New Haven Hospital. In collaboration with the Vascular Surgery Co-Director, he will be responsible for coordinating, and operating a functional wound care center, both for in-patient and out-patient care. He will also help coordinate an effective out-patient care center and regulate methods within Yale-New Hospital to reduce incidents of in-hospital acquired wounds and also increase the efficiency of wound care management when patients present with existing wounds to hospital. Dr. Hsia will also be spending time at the Veteran’s Administration.
