by Cecelia Smith

The Department of Surgery is recruiting for an Associate Program Director for Assessment to support the growth and integrity of its General Surgery Residency Program. The new role will focus primarily on developing mechanisms that ensure the timely exchange of feedback among faculty and trainees across the system; in addition to maintaining compliance with regulatory bodies.

"As we plan for the future of Yale Surgery education, we are thinking strategically about how we can leverage the Associate Program Director (APD) role to drive progress across each of the missions and disciplines," said Department of Surgery Chair, Dr. Nita Ahuja.

The Associate Program Director for Assessment will work closely with Program Director, Dr. Peter Yoo in the long-term and daily management of the program, together with APD of Curriculum, Dr. Kristen Oliveira. Future, additional leadership roles envisioned for the program include an APD for Clinical Skills, as well as an APD for Academic Development. Those recruitments will take place later this year.

Dr. Yoo is leading the internal search for the APD of Assessment for General Surgery, together with Drs. Alan Dardik, Dana Dunne, Rachel Greenup, Michelle Salazar, David Stitelman, and Associate Director of Administration, Claudia Chujoy.

Full-time faculty, independent of surgical specialty, are encouraged to apply.

Eligible candidates are encouraged to contact Claudia.Chujoy@yale.edu with an updated CV and a brief cover email expressing interest. Click here to view the job description.
