Dr. Irbaz Hameed completed two years of clinical research fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery at New York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medicine and is currently an integrated cardiothoracic surgery resident at Yale. In addition to conference presentations, he has authored several book chapters and over eighty peer-reviewed publications in high impact journals including The Lancet, JAMA, Journal of the American College of Cardiology, and Circulation. He serves as associate editor of Journal of Cardiac Surgery and is reviewer for multiple peer-reviewed journals. His research focuses on the clinical outcomes of cardiothoracic surgery procedures, and the methodology of randomized controlled trials, observational studies, and meta-analyses. Among other positions, he currently serves as Vice-President of the Yale Residents’ and Fellows’ Senate and is an executive of the Thoracic Surgery Residents’ Association.
