We are pleased to announce Vince Faustino MD, MHS as the inaugural Director of Trainee Research at Yale Pediatrics. In this capacity, he will help to support the research and scholarship of trainees and cultivate the physician-scientist pipeline.
Dr. Faustino is a Professor of Pediatrics (Critical Care). He completed his residency in Pediatrics at the Philippine General Hospital in Manila and then fellowship and pediatric residency at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. He received his MHS from Yale School of Medicine with a focus on patient-oriented research, particularly clinical trials. His work has focused on the prevention of venous thromboembolism in children. He has extensive experience in clinical trials as principal or co-investigator in NIH-funded multicenter randomized clinical trials, as a member of data safety and monitoring boards, and as chair of the Pediatric Protocol Review Committee of the Yale Human Research Protection Program. He serves as director of the Pathobiology, Epidemiology and Interventions against Thrombotic and Hemostatic Outcomes (PEITHO) Program and is a member of the executive committee of the Pediatric Acute Lung Injury and Sepsis Investigators. He has mentored more than 30 trainees and junior physicians at Yale and outside of Yale.
